I decided to experiment with a new recipe that I was slightly skeptical about but ended up being very surprised- I even LICKED the bowl! These blondes are mainly made from CHICKPEAS.
Ingredients:
Coconut oil
1 can garbanzo beans
1/2 cup almond butter
1/3 cup pure maple syrup
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/4 tsp. sea salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/3 cup dark chocolate chips (plus extra to top with)
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and coat your 8 x 8 baking dish with coconut oil so that it doesn't stick.
2. In a food processor (or a blender in my case :/) mix all ingredients except for chocolate chips. (I divided all my ingredients in half and did this twice because I had a small blender)
3. In a large bowl, fold in chocolate chips.
4. Spread into baking dish. Top with some more chocolate chips.
5. Bake for about 20 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
6. Let sit for at least 10 minutes and then cut into squares.
