Buying granola from the grocery store that is actually healthy compared to what advertising wants to trick you into believing can be tough so I decided to make my own just in time for the holidays!
Ingredients:
Dry
1.5 cups rolled oats
1 tbsp. chia seeds
3/4 cup raw, unsalted nuts (recommend almonds, pecans, walnuts)
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
1/4 tsp. ground cloves (optional)
Wet
2 tbsp. coconut oil
1/4 cup pure maple syrup
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
2. Mix all dry ingredients.
3. In a saucepan on medium low heat, warm all of the wet ingredients. Slowly pour in dry ingredients and stir together.
4. Spread the mixture on a baking sheet and put in oven. Let bake about 18 to 22 minutes. Stir hallway through. Begin checking for browning around 15 minutes to prevent over baking.
