Clean College Cooking
Helping You Survive without a Meal Plan & (Maybe) Lose the Freshman 15
When I started my Junior Year of college I began life no longer on a "meal plan." What began from trying the occasional recipe from Pinterest turned into a passion for experimenting with nutritious and delicious foods. I've learned a lot about different diets, types of food, and cooking methods in the last year. All of my recipes are meant to be simple and healthy. I hope that this site (and my instagram) show you how to cook well on a college budget without losing nutritional value. I don’t follow any particular (vegetarian, vegan, paleo, raw, etc.) but I try to eat foods that are GOOD for me. Most of these recipes have come from inspiration found on Pinterest, Instagram, and a variety of blogs. I often alter "real" recipes and make them my own based on the ingredients I have available and the foods I like. For some of the recipes I've tried to come up with measurements to help you but be confident in yourself adapt the recipes based on what YOU like, portion size, ingredients in your fridge. Food is supposed to be fuel and the only way to make it yourself STRONGER is to fill it with the right nutrients. While I have lost some weight through this process, I'm working on finding balance in my diet and encourage anybody looking to be "healthy" to do the same. Food is meant to be enjoyed; have a salad and then an ice cream sundae if you want to! I hope that you find these tips and recipes helpful whether you're navigating the kitchen for the first time without a meal plan or looking for some healthy options!
